From Seeds to Cherries: My Indoor Coffee Plant Journey

My Coffee Plant Journey: A Little Indoor Success Story

What started as a bit of an experiment turned into a rewarding adventure—growing coffee indoors. I’m honestly pretty amazed at how well it’s doing. The rich green leaves are thriving, and yes, I’ve got some early signs of cherries. Never thought I’d get this far, but here we are.

A Few Things That Worked for Me:

☕ Indirect sunlight is the sweet spot I kept my plant near a bright window but out of direct sunlight. That balance made a big difference—no burnt leaves, just strong, steady growth.

๐ŸŒก️ Warm and stable wins Coffee plants aren’t fans of surprises. I made sure the temperature stayed consistent—no cold drafts or sudden heat. Think cozy, not tropical.

๐Ÿ’ฆ Keep the humidity up Daily misting became a little ritual, and I added a water tray nearby to bump up humidity. It’s a simple trick that helps replicate a rainforest vibe without needing, you know, a rainforest.

๐ŸŒฟ Water with feel, not a schedule I go by touch—when the top inch of soil feels dry, that’s the cue. No overwatering, no fuss.

๐Ÿงช Light feeding = happy plant During spring and summer, I use a balanced liquid fertilizer every couple of weeks. Nothing too fancy, just enough to keep those leaves lush and healthy.

✂️ Trim with care Occasional pruning keeps the shape tidy and encourages fuller growth. I also remove yellow leaves when they pop up—it helps the plant focus its energy on the good stuff.

It’s been a cool experience, and honestly, kind of inspiring. Watching something grow because of your effort—it hits different. If you’re thinking about trying it yourself, I’d say go for it. And hey, one day we might both be sipping homemade coffee from plants we raised ourselves.

Thanks for following along—and if you’ve got questions or your own coffee stories, I’d love to hear them.
